|Organization Development is an application of behavioural science to organizational change. It encompasses a wide array of theories, processes, and activities, all of which are oriented towards the goal of improving the individual, team and the organization. OD emphasizes on carefully planned approaches to changing or improving organization structures and processes, in an attempt to minimize negative side effects and maximize organizational effectiveness.
OD differs from traditional organizational change techniques in that it typically embraces a more holistic approach that is aimed at transforming thought and behaviour throughout the entity. Like many other organizational change techniques, the basic OD process consists of gathering data, planning change, and then implementing and managing the changes. However, OD initiatives are usually distinguished by the use of “action research”, “change agents”, and “interventions”.
TVRLS has been working extensively in the area of Organization Development. We have provided support to our clients in the planned OD initiatives by implementing various interventions depending on the requirement of the client. Some of these are:
1. Conducting Diagnostic Studies to identify areas which require OD interventions and then helping the client implement them.
2. Interventions aimed at individuals like 360 Degree Feedback for Leadership Development, Improving perceptions and motivation at work place, Assessing Leadership style and its impact, Talent discovery and management through Assessment Development Centers etc.
3. Interventions targeted at teams such as Workshops for management of Inter team conflict and developing collaboration, Workshops for improving Managerial effectiveness at team level.
4. Interventions aimed at changes at the Organizational Level such as Visioning, HRD Audit, Organizational Climate Surveys, Assessment of current Organization culture and its impact etc.
Each of these interventions is followed through by action planning so that the client is able to maximize the benefits out of these comprehensive interventions.
